The Administrative Medical Assistant program is designed to prepare students to function effectively as an integral member of the physician’s health care team. Students will learn extensive and comprehensive training in body structure and the functions of various body systems to perform diagnostic and procedural coding. The Administrative Medical Assistant program also prepares students for managing front desk operations, communicating with patients, scheduling appointments, electronic billing, filing insurance claims, maintaining patient records, and medical transcription. The Administrative Medical Assistant program develops administrative and office management skills, preparing students for entry-level positions at physician offices, clinics, and hospitals. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) national exam.
